What You Need

  • ½ Teaspoon of Salt
  • ½ Teaspoon of Cream of Tartar
  • ¼ Teaspoon of Baking Soda
  • 4 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
  • 5 Tablespoons Softened and Melted Infused Butter (from your Magical Butter 2 Herbal Infuser of course!)
  • ¼ Cup of Shortening
  • 1 Cup of Buttermilk
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • Large Mixing Bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Round Cookie Cutter or Standard Drinking Glass with Rounded Lip
  • Ungreased Cookie Sheet
  • Wooden Cutting Board or Surface

What You Do

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
  • In large mixing bowl, combine baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, flour, and salt
  • Mix in shortening until the consistency of dough is chunky and crumbles
  • Add buttermilk and blend until entirely mixed
  • Flour wooden board or counter
  • Knead mixture over wooden surface 20-25 times or until the mixture is smooth and lump-free
  • Cut with cookie cutter or rounded glass
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet
  • Brush half of the melted infused butter on the tops or raw unbaked biscuits
  • Bake for 18 minutes or until golden brown
  • Remove from oven and brush remaining infused butter on top
  • Let cool
  • Enjoy!
