Our Piece of the Day is the Pakoh Boombox Bowl. Another fine piece from our American Glass Section. This piece is another representative symbol for modern society put into glass form. This decorative bowl is made by the very talented glassblower by the name of ‘Pakoh’. This design is composed of fused glass in the dimensions of 45mm x 23mm x 45mm. The fumed glass leaves a marble like finish which complements the black styling very well indeed.   This abstract bubbler is one of our most eye catching pieces. At first glance of the Smokeopelli Glass Bubbler it may be hard to see, but a closer look shows the piece depicting a man smoking the bubbler. Using line, draw and spin techniques on the finest borosilicate glass Jason Gordon has developed this pure functioning, intricately coloured masterpiece. EDiTor’s Piece of the Day 21.11.2011 – Cap’n Crunk Glass Chillum

Small, portable, stylish, vibrant…. I can come up with many superlatives for this Cap’n Crunk Glass Chillum. This handmade borosilicate glass chillum is one for smokers on the move. A use of wig-wags, patterns and different coloured glass makes this piece immediately engaging on the eye. The worked bowl and mouthpiece features an in-built 3-prong gauze making this a beautiful, functional and affordable pipe from our American Glass section. This piece has been blown, woven and intertwined to achieve its unique design.

EDiTor’s Piece of the Day 18.11.2011 – Smiley 3-Disc Fillacello Glass Bubbler

Woah! Our American Glass pick of the day is this abstract piece of art created by Smiley. It is called the Smiley 3-Disc Fillacello Glass Bubbler. The piece is composed mainly of dark glass with an array of colours displayed on each disc that forms a fillacello style pattern at three different points. The work is meticulously thought out and very difficult to create. This is best displayed by the pulled horns which spread across the length of this beauty and the long dark blue tentacles that run alongside the piece. Smiley are top glass blowers in the game and this piece is one of their finest.
